What does treatment involve?
The first initial consultation includes a thorough examination
A case history will be recorded and the treatment plan will be discussed. The treatment outcome may be Bowen Therapy, Remedial Massage or Clinical Laser Therapy in which the laser is aimed directly onto the target area. The laser is controlled by wavelength, power pulsing rate and duration which passes into the tissue. The treatment is pain free, non invasive and non thermal.
Depending upon the condition treated, acute or new conditions require fewer treatments compared to chronic or old conditions. The patient will feel results usually within the first treatment, due to the laser’s effects on endorphin release.
If presenting with lymphoedema a treatment plan will be discussed followed by Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Exercise and daily skin care will be advised. Depending on the symptoms, bandaging and compression garments will be discussed.
